Dr. Robert Garfrerick
Dr. Robert Garfrerick is Professor and Chair of Entertainment Industry at the University of North Alabama. He has a bachelor of music degree from the University of Alabama, a Master of Arts in music from Middle Tennessee State University and a doctorate in education from Tennessee State University. He says he values having received his highest degree from a historically black college or university (HBCU). “I believe this has been one of the most significant parts of my formation as an educator, administrator and citizen.”
As a songwriter he has had songs recorded by Crystal Gayle, T. G. Sheppard, Marie Osmond, Johnny Lee, Gus Hardin, David Slater and others. One of his most recent accomplishments was being admitted to the Fulbright Specialist Program and selected to complete a short teaching assignment in the Leisure Management Program at the University of Applied Arts and Sciences of Southern Switzerland in Lugano, Switzerland.
