2019 Theme: Make Good

Everything we do contributes to the world around us — no matter if you’re a maker, a business professional, an artist, or a homemaker. To strive for a better community means to make good around you. At TEDxWilsonPark’s 2nd annual event on August 24th, 2019, we’ll talk about practical ways you can commit to make good and have a positive impact in the Shoals community.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxWilsonPark, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxWilsonPark event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

TEDxWP Audience 2018

On August 24, 2019 at The Mane Room in downtown Florence, Alabama, TEDxWilsonPark attendees will hear from carefully curated speakers from Alabama and across the country from diverse fields sharing big, bold ideas of how they're making good in the world around them. TEDxWilsonPark will also feature local artists and musicians who will share their art with you.

Included with each TEDxWilsonPark ticket will be an event t-shirt, morning refreshments, and lunch graciously provided by Taco Mama.

The day will be a unique, intimate gathering of thinkers, doers, creators and makers — to allow the conversation to continue around ideas worth spreading. However, we are limited 100 tickets for this event, so buy your ticket before they’re sold out!
